There are many heated jackets and vests on the market at the moment and are particularly in demand as we head into the colder months. But which heated jacket do you choose? In this article, I am reviewing the iHood Heated Jacket, a complete wardrobe essential when it comes to spending time out doors this winter (or for me, on the side of a football pitch!)
iHood Brand
Before making any purchase, I think it is important to review the brand and their ethos. iHood was founded in 2021 so is a relatively new brand. Their website reads:
‘We devote ourself to the production of the world-leading,multi-functional outdoor and daily wearing apparel via the advanced technology and workmanship. No matter leisure time or outdoor activities(camping, skiing, hunting),or working, or driving the cold or hot away at daily life. iHood can provide you the heated apparel which fits your life style.’
iHood makes a variety of heated jackets, gilets and even socks for both men and women, but why is a heated jacket something you should consider?
Why wear a heated Jacket?
There are lots of reasons why you’d want to wear a heated jacket this winter but what really are the benefits of wearing one?
– Keeping warm
– Being comfortable in cold weather
– More opportunities to go outdoors
Whether you are a Mum that is on the sidelines of a football pitch, or you simply have a dog to walk, it’s a no brainer when it comes to wearing a heated jacket in cold weather. This really is the jacket for you if you tend to spend a lot of time outdoors! Even the cold morning school runs, this is a game changer!
For me, I know that this will mean I can spend longer on the side of the football pitch knowing that I am toasty warm this winter!
How does it work?
Included with the iHood heated jacket is a storage bag, a 12V battery pack, adapter to charge your jacket and a manual, explaining how to wear and use your jacket to the best of its advantage.
Inside the jacket you will find a small zip up, where inside is stored a charging cable. Here, this is where you would connect this to your adapter and charge your heating panels within the inside of the coat. It’s great because you can easily store the battery inside this compartment so hide it away and keep your coat on charge.
On the front of your coat is a badge which also acts as you on/off button. Simply press down onto the 4 different buttons which will in effect, charge different parts of the coat. The different buttons will light up if it is in use. Hold down for 3 seconds to turn off and on. It’s that simple!
Features and Details
So, how warm does the iHood heated jacket get and just how many heating panels does it have. It comes with three different heating zones including:
– Front
– Lower Back
– Hood
As I mentioned above, you can control these areas of heat but using the control button on the front of the coat. Any amazingly, it only take 3 seconds to heat up, so perfect if you feel that sudden chill whilst out and about. The front panel is also really useful as it keeps the front pockets lovely and warm too, so again, great if you have forgotten your gloves! I have to say, having a heated hood is also a game changer for me! To adjust the heat, you simply press the button again to reduce the temperature.
Some other features include:
– Waterproof
– Wind resistant
– 100% machine washable
– Up to 150 Fahrenheit
– 3 different levels of heat
– Up to 7 hours battery time
– 18 month battery warranty and 2 years on heating panels
Final say
I am really pleased with the fitting on the coat. I am a size 10-12 and iHood recommended a size Medium and it fits perfectly. It’s also really useful for the panel button on the front of the coat to light up, meaning you can see which areas of the coat are on or off. However, you can turn this light off if you wish for it to not be on but still have the heating panels on. I also really love the fact the battery panel as two USB outlets meaning you can charge another device at the same time when out and about – genius! The battery pack does display how much is charged which is also really helpful too.
In terms of the style, it really is a super simply outdoor coat, with thick material to keep the cold at bay. The coat is what I would describe as a stylish outdoor winter jacket.
It’s also good to know that the jacket is really easy to wash and please do not panic about doing this! Just make sure you remove the battery pack first and cover the USB and zip up the pocket. Finally, I really love the storage bag and is useful in it’s own right!
Overall, I’m thrilled with the iHood Heated jacket and would 100% recommend!
